The influence of advertisement towards society

The influence of advertisement towards society is very great. For the producers, advertisement is a very useful mean of promoting their products and for the consumers themselves, they will know the kinds of products that they can choose or buy. So advertisements can help both of them commonly use mass media to show their products. Not only through the electronic media like televisions or radio but also through “printing” media, such as newspaper and magazines.

For the producers, it will be easier for them to offer their products to people everywhere. They just put their advertisements in mass media and for the mass media which is used to promote their products, it can get income from those advertisements.

If we compare, the advantage of advertisement is more, but there is also its disadvantage. For the housewives, they will get influence easily, when they see certain advertisement for examples cosmetics which can make them beautiful, they will buy it although that cosmetics isn’t always suitable with their skin. Especially for little children they will become “the victims” of certain products, for instance candies which have attractive colour and shape but they are dangerous.

So, we should be able to choose which products are good and beneficial for us and which one or not. We mustn’t judge people the quality of certain products only from the advertisements

I think in Indonesia advertisements can influence people’s attitude in buying certain products especially if the people who advertise are film stars or famous singer or the other reasons if the products promise to give “certain bonus” or “prize” if people buy them. Indonesian people will not hesitate to try the products.
