President Election in Indonesia SOON!

What should we people do? Who should we choose? There are a lot of party that want to get position in politics. Especially President like Gerindra,PDIP,PKB,Golkar,Demokrat, and so on?What are their effort either then? What do you think if they make their own website and give their programs so they can convince us that they are eligible to be chosen, just like what Obama and McCain do. What do you think? I really love it if they do it, it will be helpful, at least there would be less people who will be "GolPut".On the other side, we, students are preparing for our UN while the date of election is really close to us. How we can choose in the right way if we concern in two things like that? I don't think thet our choice will be our best..

  1. I think is better if they can make their own website so they can convince us to reduce "The GolPut" personel. But i think that the Golput people didn't trust the goverment because corruption etc.
    And we still can choose the right way if we start the "researching better commander right now" and we can start study without any troublesome ROFL

  2. It is hard for me to find information about the election in English (from a source other than the Jakarta Post, which often has accuracy issues).

    What is GolPut?

    Also, I think you can still try to learn about the candidates, even though you are preparing for the UN. When I am deciding who I want to vote for, I make a list of the issues that are most important to me. Then I research the candidates and I decide which candidate supports the issue I care about in the way I want them to. When you use this strategy, you are able to see who agrees most with you.

  3. GolPut comes from the word 'Golongan Putih'
    Golongan=Group
    Putih=White
    It means people who do not participate in the election..

    In USA, I think it's easier to choose, because there are only 2 party there. But, in Indonesia, we have more than 20 party (I also heard that each party also have a number of candidates, too... suppose that there is). Suppose that there are 30 party, and each party had 5 candidates... It means there are 150 candidates! That's why we have difficulties to deeply understand each candidate's missions and visions...
