Okay, for the beginning, let,s talk about the event that will come son. yes, Chinese New Year. After a long time being banned, eventually Chinese New Year is celebrated again. As we know, there was a great discrimination against Chinese in Indonesia between 1965-1998, just like the discrimination against the black in United States.
Now, in the reformation year, the Chinese get their freedom again. So, they celebrate the Chinese New Year in a great party. Most of people agree with this celebration, but some of them don,t. They think that such of celebration can remove Indonesian nationality because the Chinese Indonesian will feel as a real Chinese, not an Indonesian. Beside that, it will make a segegration between the one who celbrate Chinese New Year and one who doesn,t. So the Chinese become more exclusive.
So, what,s your opinion about it? Is Chinese New Year worth to be celebrated or not?
Tiffani (A2/39)
of course because I think everyone have his or her right to celebrating something that he or she thinks is needed to be celebrating
