The President of USA

Recently, USA citizens have elected the new president, Barack Obama.
He comes from common people. He never joined party before. But, many people support him to be a president of USA.
And, he will lead USA soon.

Will he bring changes in USA goverment??
Is he the right person to be the next president of USA?

What will happen if Indonesia have the new president like him?

  1. As a US citizen, I do think that Barack Obama will bring a lot of positive change to my country, but I think this change will be slow. The problem is that "government" is more than just the President. It is also Congress, government agencies, and local government. In other words, it is difficult for only one person to change everything overnight.

However, already he is showing that he is ready to lead. He seems prepared to lead America during a time of economic crisis. Plus, he has appointed smart and capable people to his new government team.

Do you agree? Disagree? I want to know your honest opinions.

  2. Honestly, I become doubtful after the Israel incident. Indonesian media gives me an impression that Obama is still and old American president (i.e. protecting Israel). I hope Obama will do something to really change world's opinion about USA.

  3. I'm sorry to say this, but I'm not agree with you, Raymond..:B

first, I will start with the meaning of the word 'president'
    presidnt:
    1. an officer elected to preside over a group of organization
    2. (often cap.) the chief executive officer under a republican form of government, esp. that of the United States

So, the word 'president' much like the word 'leader'
    leader:
    1. one that leads
    2. The head of a political party, group, or organization

A leader is someone who must lead an organization(including a country). So, I think they must think how to make his people having a better living, right? Nowadays, As we know, America is in an economic crisis, and it IS a big problem for almost every country in the world. I think, maybe they think that solving this problem first will be better than soling Israel-Palestina problem. Why?

First, as a leader of a group, you MUST first think about your group, not other group. I never heard about a GOOD LEADER that abandon his organization because he want to save other organization. Even, Sun Tzu says:

know yourself and know your enemy
find win in 100 battles(it means win in all battle, though)
know yourself but don't know your enemy
find win in half of the battles
know you enemy but don't know yourself
    find defeat in every battle

When Obama was elected to be a president, I'm sure that he had the responsibility to save his people first. Besides, other country has their own leader, right? So their leader are the one that must solve their problem. Barrack Obama isn't a Palestina president, or an Israel president; he is an US president.

Besides, as Ms Rachel says, he can't make changes in one night. He needs time. So, why not give him finished his own country problems, before help to solve the Palestina problem?

The last one but not least::
As you know, there a lot of Indonesian people don't like USA, because America is based on human-right, while we based on religion. eg, I've heard that in America, they let the 'Children of God Church', which is a forbidden religion in our country. So, with telling something bad about USA, I think the media can get more money from Indonesian people. Besides, some people are having this motto: nothing I can't do for a lot of money! Isn't there any possibilities that they also this people type??

  4. Hm.. about Barrack Obama...
I have heard many opinion about him.
Most of them said that he is the right man to lead America.
In my opinion,he has a great effort to change the face of USA.
    He will remove Guantanamo's prisoner.
    I agree with that.
He chooses right man to solve this economic crisis
For the example, He chooses Hillary Clinton as foreign minister.
I just hope he will influence our country, because he spent his childhood in SDN Menteng 01 in Jakarta.
Moreover,I personally don't know what will happen if he leads our country.
Because I haven't seen anythings that he contributes.
    So just wait and`see

    Best regards,

    Danny

  5. I want to answer the question from Miss Rachel..

Actually, I posted this blog because I'm confused..

But, in my opinion, Obama is better than McCain..
So, he is the right person to bring changes in USA..

He is a smart people.. And he is a think tanker...
Also, he comes from common people.. So, I think he can feel how poor people live.. He will fighting for them...

In the other hand, I realize that a country won't be change only by a new president. It needs change in the internal of government too..

And it needs a lot of time too to make changes..
But I'm sure that Obama will bring good changes in USA..
