As you can see, no one Indonesia's University among the 100th best university.Surely, ranking isn't evert thing, but rangking is the prove of quality. That's why guys, I hope you can think again your choice.
Where will you go??
Countinue your study in Indonesia or overseas??
If you choose to study overseas, what country do you choose??especially the university...

Hi Co
ReplyDeleteActually I dont catch your meanning???
Where will you go???
After graduation..
Or our activity...
I cant guess your idea..
Sorry
Danny
Does dat mean my plan after graduation or waht... I am on the same side as Danny lol..
ReplyDeleteAfter graduation, I plan to go to Bali; possibly with my friends. But we are still in doubt because there would be students whom parents wont allow them to go far away...
how bout u?
Sorry to confuse you...
ReplyDeleteI mean where will you go after graduation..
I guess ur wrong.. daht rank IS based on general one.. not on specific criteria. In engineering, ITB ranked TOP 100 ;; we hav to be proud of our country, Indonesia,,, yay..
ReplyDeleteanyway, I am applying to no 2,15,17,36,30,71 lol.. I hope I have the chance to enroll in~
hows yours amrico
Wait.. I think, you can't just see a university from their global rank. We also must see their rank in their best major. for example, Harvard is #1, and MIT is # 10. However, MIT is # 1 in science, while Harvard don't have science faculty. In the other hand, Harvard is # 1 in law faculty, while MIT didn't have law faculty. so, you can't judge the university only by their global rank... And, I think ITB had a chance (no matter how small it is..) to be top 100 in science faculty..
ReplyDeleteHmmm...
ReplyDeleteI just see at one side because I think we must think global. The ranking takes from any chategories and that is the summary of all.
Maybe you're right, but in this section I just want to give you universal information.
Surely, if we see from every faculty, that's too much...
And wait...I didn't say ITB isn't good, but I mean ITB isn't the best, and if we can get better, why not??isn't right?? ^^
Rankings reflect world-wide opinions about a university, but there are other things (besides rankings) that you must consider when choosing a university.
ReplyDeleteFirst, like DMG said, not every university has every academic concentration.** If you know that you want to study biology, you should evaluate the best biology programs.
Second, you should decide whether a university will help you explore your non-academic interests. If you like singing, you should ask "does the university have singing activities?" If you like playing futsol you should ask, "does the school have a scrimmage futsol team?"
Third, you should consider cost. Schools like Harvard and MIT are expensive. This should not prevent you from applying, but you should explore financial aid and scholarship options.
Last, you want to make sure that you are happy. Each school has a different culture. For example, I was happy at Duke because it is a university with intense school spirit. I wanted to go to a university where I could dress up in school colors and cheer on the basketball team (while also getting a great education). For me, Duke fit this criteria. For you, it might be something else that is important.
Just remember, rankings are a reflection of status and prestige. Status and prestige can be superficial. You want to make sure you are looking beyond the superficial and evaluating a university honestly.
Notes:
**In response to DMG's post, Harvard does have a science faculty
oops.. I'm sorry for the false information..:p
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry for just tell in global...
ReplyDeleteBut I think that is the right way because if we want to tell an information about something,we must "see" in global, if we just see at one side(particular), sometimes that isn't fair...
